Our museum houses a full shop for restoring and repairing boats. Many of our hands on courses and workshops are held here.
The shop also houses our long term restoration project the PAT II, a 39 ft launch we hope to bring back to life on Keuka Lake when completed.
FLBM is proud to provide live demonstrations during the week. Our exciting demo schedule will give visitors the opportunity to observe different ongoing projects throughout the year.
The Finger Lakes Boating Museum (FLBM)museum was founded to preserve and share the fascinating history of the Finger Lakes boating industry and the pivotal role it has played in the development of the region and beyond. The Finger Lakes Boating Academy (FLBA) is the umbrella entity that covers all of FLBM’s active educational activity offered to the public: courses, lectures, demonstrations, workshops, youth programs, on water programs, and special events. FLBA will become the primary educational institution around Finger Lakes boating by providing regularly scheduled and diverse program offerings and venues to the community. Please join us in learning more about the history and skills involved in our outstanding boating heritage!
Our Monthly Lecture Series will focus on both boating and other subjects of interest to our audience. These lectures will take place at venues throughout the Finger Lakes Region.
Lectures will be free to attend. Donations always welcome.
Hands on courses are an amazing and unique opportunity to learn the skills of boat building, boater's safety and boating with experienced instructors.
Each year we try to provide popular courses as well as something new.
Cost of courses varies based on length and subject.
Workshops are a great way to get started with our museum's educational programs. These short hands on programs give you a chance to learn a skill, take something home and are a wonderful introduction to our programming for all students.
For more information about our educational programs, please visit the lecture, course, demonstration and workshop pages or contact us.
