Finger Lakes Boating Museum From Our Collection
Penn Yan Mariner (MAI)
Penn Yan introduced the Mariner series in 1964. This family of plywood-lapstrake boats included outboard models in 15, 16, 17, & 18 ft lengths, and an 18 ft model equipped with Inboard-Outboard power. The IO or Stern Drive model as it was referred to was available in various power options.

The boat featured herein was built in 1965, and is equipped with the original 100 hp Dearborn Marine Interceptor engine with Eaton Marine Powernaut® Drive. The donor acquired her at auction in 2005 and donated her to the Museum in 2010.

The Mariner series was discontinued in 1967 when wooden boat manufacture was replaced by fiberglass.
