Penn Yan Flier Cartop (QXH)

Penn Yan introduced the 14 ft Flier Cartop in 1948, followed by a 12 ft version in 1953. A high speed variation of the standard Cartop model, the Flier has a broader beam and was said to produce “spray-free level running and hair pin turning with full gravity banking.”  Built using Composite construction, the perspective buyer was promised “you will get close to record speed for your power in an all around useful boat”.  The Fliers were offered by Penn Yan through 1962. The boat shown here is an example of the 12 ft model (QXH).
