Penn Yan Trailboat Model BGD

Penn Yan introduced the Trailboat series in 1948, and produced this popular Row O/B in various configurations throughout the 1950s. Built for trailering rather than car top transport, these canvas covered boats were slightly heavier than their CarTop counterparts. The 14 ft BGD model, shown here in as-donated condition, is equipped with four seats and a 48 in. cedar deck. After nearly fifty years of use (this boat was built in 1952), the boat is ready for new canvas. The specification sheet shown below, from Penn Yan's 1949 catalog, gives additional details.
