Sutherland Troutboat

This 14 ft rowboat is a replica of a boat designed by Henry J. Sutherland of Branchport, NY in 1906. Built in 1990 by Keuka Lake boatbuilder Dan Sutherland, with the help of his grandfather Ernest (Henry’s son); the boat closely resembles the original Sutherland Troutboat. Cedar planking is clench-nailed to steam-bent ribs, carvel-style, to form a smooth hull surface. She contains a wine-glass transom which gives the boat a fine entry whether rowing backwards or forwards.
