Henry Sutherland Rowboat

Henry Sutherland built rowboats and launches in Branchport, NY from 1905 – 1914. This 14 ft "double-ender" rowboat was built by Sutherland during that era. In 1962, the boat was discovered leaning up against a cottage at the northern end of Keuka Lake and purchased by the donor $10. Many years later, Henry’s great-grandson, Dan Sutherland (shown in photo), restored the boat to near-original condition. The boat was recently donated to the Museum.
