Todd Troutboat

This rather tired old rowboat was built by Adelbert Todd of Penn Yan, NY . The boat's last owner purchased it second-hand from a colleague in 1945, and used it continuously on Keuka Lake over a fifty-year period to fish for lake trout. Originally built exclusively for rowing, it was fitted out with a stern deck.

Note the transom-mounted board protruding above the deck to accommodate an outboard motor, a frequently seen modification on old rowboats. The owner maintained the boat himself, adding numerous ribs throughout the years to stabilize the hull.
