Finger Lakes Boating Museum From Our Collection
Penn Yan Mariner

Penn Yan offered the Mariner series from 1964-1966. Produced in lengths of 15ft, 16ft, 17ft & 18ft using the plywood lapstrake method of construction, these boats were some of the last models produced by Penn Yan at the end of the wooden era. The boats were finished with white hull sides and varnished mahogany decks and trim. Some models sported mahogany framed windshields. While most Mariners were set up for outboard motor power, an inboard motor model (stern drive) was also produced.

The 15ft model shown here is in the Museum’s collection and contains a steel framed wrap-around windshield with open compartment aft (no rear seats) to facilitate fishing.
