Finger Lakes Boating Museum From Our Collection
Thompson Deluxe Speedster

This 16 ft Deluxe Speedster was built by Thompson Bros. of Cortland, NY around 1940. The hull was laid up using their patented "compressed seam" strip plank technique (see 1940 catalog page below). Red cedar was used below the spray rails and mahogany was used above, as well as for the decks and transom. Seats are made with redwood.

This boat remained in use within the same family until 1998, when it was donated to the Museum.
