This old rowboat is thought to have been originally built as a
"double-ender", and subsequently cut down to accommodate an outboard
motor. It was discovered in the rafters of a barn in Yates County, NY. At this
point, the builder is unknown. Note the runners in place to support the rowing
seat (probably "an add-on"), and the longitudinal pieces running forward
from mid-ships which served either as bracing or seat risers. The raised trim
piece on the front deck was a design detail frequently used by Charles Pilgrim
of Hammondsport.
