Donate An Artifact
The Finger Lakes Boating Museum is dedicated to preserving the boating heritage of the Finger Lakes Region. This is enabled in part through the acquisition and display of a representative collection of boats and related objects that were used here for commercial and recreational purposes throughout our history. With few exceptions these boats were built within the region by commercial builders (someone engaged in the business of building boats). Along with these we have a growing collection of related items such as boatbuilding tools, motors, fishing supplies, etc. that were either used to construct these boats or employed in their use.
Most of these artifacts have been gifted to the Museum through the generosity of donors who have decided to entrust us with the future of these treasured objects. If you are interested in exploring the possibility of donating an artifact, please contact the Museum either by email or postal mail. A representative from our Collections Committee will then contact you to initiate a review process to determine whether it is suitable for our collection.
Donate Ephemera
The Museum also collects ephemera (books, magazines, sales literature, photographs, records, etc.) related to boating in the Finger Lakes Region. These materials are placed in our library and archives, and are invaluable references when conducting research.Sound Interesting?
