Preserving Our Boating Heritage

The Finger Lakes Boating Museum was established in 1997 to preserve the boating heritage of the Finger Lakes region. Since our founding, the Museum has assembled a collection of more than 115 boats built in the Finger Lakes region over the past 100 years, as well as numerous related artifacts and extensive reference material.

Coming Soon - Boating Museum/Visitors Center

We are in the process of building a permanent home on the northwest shore of Seneca Lake in Geneva, NY. Meanwhile, portions of our collection are shown at various venues around the Finger Lakes. Once this new facility becomes available our collection will be displayed on a rotating basis. Also planned are interactive workshops and displays to engage visitors in the design, construction and use of the boats, and an active on-water program including sailing and small boat handling.

Storefront Showcase Window

The Museum presently maintains a storefront display at 430 Exchange Street in Geneva, New York. This space is used to showcase selected artifacts and ephemera from the Museum collection.
