Before the Erie Canal, Southern Tier farmers built arks of rafts to float their produce down the rivers to the Chesapeake Bay to sell their goods. Walk through this interesting time with us as the Director of the Steuben County Historical Society, Kirk House talks about the days when farmers had to use rivers as highways.
This lecture will be available on the FLBM website, Youtube and Facebook. This is a free lecture being released from the FLBM lecture archives.
